"Virginia Zeani - one of the greatest voices of the Opera of all time. Romancă, born in a village near Reghin, Solovăstru, Mures county, was named "L`Assoluta" at a time when Callas was "La Divina". Luciano Pavarotti confessed that he had invested heavily in her and devoted her "Donna non vidi mai" to Mannon Lescaut at a concert in Indianapolis in 1996. Franco Zefirelli, who was his friend and neighbor, admitted that he had the habit of sneaking behind the curtains of his home window, listening to his vocals. At Bloomington, from 1981 to 2004, Virginia Zeani, Professor Emeritus of the University, has prepared dozens of students and students for the grand selection contest of the Motropolitan Opera and has had, over the years, not less than 14 finalists. My duty, first of all as a consulate with the great artist, was to initiate this festival that bears its name, to try and recover Solovastru, Mureş, Romania and the whole world, the greatest lyrical artist of all time: VirginiaZeani ".
